February 2024 Update
High River Minor Soccer NEWSLETTER February 2024 Hello Soccer Fans! HRMS Spring Soccer Updates Last year, we heard significant feedback and aer conducting a formal survey of our Referees and Coaches, we took to the planning stages in an effort to make Soccer better for High River. Additionally, it has been a priority of the Board to ensure that we keep Soccer accessible and are continuously looking for innovative ways to control our expenditures in order to cover some cost increases that are beyond our control and to avoid raising soccer fees. Here is a snapshot of some of the changes for the upcoming 2024 Spring Season: TeamSnap Update: A registration system is critical for the club as this platform manages our website, all our communications (including this one) at the Club and Team level, practice and game scheduling, payment management and reporting. One of the largest single cost line items is Teamsnap. The Board, led by our Super Registrar Jessica, embarked on a project this winter to see if we could find an acceptable replacement at a lower cost. We are pleased to announce that we have made the decision to migrate off of Teamsnap and onto a new to us platform called TeamlinkT for the 2024 Spring Season. Along with this switch, we will be re-launching our website and registration shortly. We think you will appreciate the simple functionality of TeamlinkT along with the new features we will be able to utilize to better manage soccer. This change will require you to register in the new system and download a new App with the beginning of 2024 Soccer Season, stay tuned for more info to come with our website relaunch! |
U05/U07 Programs:
Based on the extensive feedback received regarding the space we have been using for games and practices, we have decided to move this program to Highwood High School. Utilizing the football field will give us ample room for each team.
Following up on the great work that our Vice President, Tony Walker has done, we are also SUPER excited to announce that these age groups will be joining the world of Timbits Soccer following the great sponsorship support of our local Tim Hortons locations. This means new uniforms and balls for our youngest players. They are going to look awesome out there!
Travel League:
We heard clear feedback on the safety and quality of our fields. We have been working with the Town and our other partners to impress the importance of having properly irrigated and gopher free spaces. We have come up with a plan to rotate our groups through 2 different fields, one for practice and one for games, to try to alleviate some of our impact. One of our Board Members, Daryn Hitchner is working closely with our partners at the Town, FSD and CRCSD to provide insights and ideas on improving the maintenance of our fields .
